Three Types of Apps That Can be Developed to Extend Micro-blogging Sites

Three types of Apps can be developed to extend the functionality of micro-blogging sites.

The first of apps that can be developed to extend the functionality of micro-blogging sites is that of those which can aggregate posts. These would, for instance, aggregate posts on a particular topic, posts from a particular area, posts by a particular group of people… and so on.

The second type of apps that can be developed to extend the functionality of micro-blogging sites is that of those which can search through posts. To be sure, most of these sites tend to have some search capabilities. But those are not very sophisticated. They are, by default, more or less like the www.gmail.com search capabilities, through which you can search Gmail.com mails through basic criteria, but where highly complicated searches are impossible to perform. So, with respect to the micro-blogging sites, you can create applications to extend those search capabilities.

The third type of apps that can be developed to extend the functionality of micro-blogging sites is that of those which can generate posts. These are bound to be controversial, as most people are of the opinion that only ‘real humans’ should be posting to these micro-blogging sites. The content generated by such apps could even be treated as spam.
